I tried (and retried many many times!) lace knitting. The pattern i was following had lovely chains of bay leaves but they got lost because of the multi-coloured handspun mohair i was using. With a few everyday projects on the go -- draining yogurt for yogurt cream (an easy alternative to marscapone), a new bread recipe rising, leftover blown eggs from Easter drying, while felted sweaters are shrinking down further in the washing machine for a new batch of floor baskets. So the red rug turned out to be "beaten too hard" (just getting used to hula hoop tension) and it popped off the loom like a fibre basket unstead. but the kids...and the cats it seems...are happy that it works well as a cat bed.
