Lacework

I tried (and retried many many times!) lace knitting. The pattern i was following had lovely chains of bay leaves but they got lost because of the multi-coloured handspun mohair i was using. It was good lacework practice but the end result is airy and textured but patternless.

Thursday afternoon

With a few everyday projects on the go -- draining yogurt for yogurt cream (an easy alternative to marscapone), a new bread recipe rising, leftover blown eggs from Easter drying, while felted sweaters are shrinking down further in the washing machine for a new batch of floor baskets. The lanolin smell of wet wool masked by baking bread.

So the red rug turned out to be "beaten too hard" (just getting used to hula hoop tension) and it popped off the loom like a fibre basket unstead.  but the kids...and the cats it seems...are happy that it works well as a cat bed.
