Fall clothing swap tonight!

pajama day

I found some pj pants at the swap - blue and covered in construction trucks - and didn't discover they were 100% polyester until Eily had fallen head over heels in love with them. the only way to get them off was to promise a new, better pair. so off we went to the fabric store on the afternoon of the weather "bomb" that was to hit southern ontario, one week before halloween when university guys were trying to figure out how much pink chenille they would need for their pillow custome. needless to say: terrible timing. but Eily found some fabric and when I showed him the finished product after he came home from school yesterday, he practically jumped out of his jeans to get in them. I believe his perfect day would be an all day pajama day.

SWAP

Wednesday, October 6, First United Church, 16 William St. W. Waterloo
Doors open at 7 pm and swap begins at 7:30pm.

HOW IT WORKS: Bring your clean pre-loved clothing, donate them to the swap, and "shop" through the donated items for some new favorites.

Leftovers items will be donated to a local charity.

ADMISSION: A minimum of one item to swap or a suggested donation of $2.

BYOB (bring your own bag)

And a birthday gift for Eily

holiday

a week at the cottage with an everyday-dip-in-the-lake (or long languishing swim). it felt like luxury. or necessary when i think back on it now that i'm in this hot city again.
there was also time to draw up some ideas for the swap poster (more on that later); post upcoming events on the website; start a new knitting project (a raglan pullover with the softest of soft yarns); work on some mending; and once we were home again, try out the new photo studio (with camera installed on tripod and backdrop ready!)






but the best part will have to wait. i finished knitting my cardigan (hence the new project) and once i've sewn in the seams and blocked it, i'll be eager to show it off. even in the heat of august.
