Today: another Tuesday. I spent most of it tiling the last wall of the bathroom, finally. And I had a chance to do some mending, including repairing this pillow. My Oma's things arrived here with my parents the other day: her sewing supplies, some measuring cups (one from Holland!) and kitchen utensils, and this pillow which I made for her from a kit when I was in grade school. I remember it always sat in a blue chair in the corner of her living room.

This is what happens when I use the serger for stitching stuffed carrots: flattened vegetable. I've stitched them all so far by hand, but I have some thin wool - this stuff, synthetically fuzzy as well - which I think I can put through my sewing machine quite easily. I'll give it a try and use this one for a felt board market garden scene!

Sloves and sloves-to-be in spring colours. I am a big fan of the moss green and teal combo.

A non-crafting Tuesday...no way! Though I had to hunker down with a paper due tomorrow, I took the occasion to use the lovely new addition to my collection of Esther Lashby DeVries' ceramic mugs for my morning tea. Rusty orange always wins me over. But paper-writing stole my soul until the end of today. It's now time for bed.

But the real crafting of the day took place in honour of dinnertime. It was another day-"off" with Eily at daycare and no summer Tuesday classes. I am completely overwhelmed on days like these because of the many projects I could dive into: birthday gifts, sewing orders, boiling beans, cleaning toilets, you name it. I chose phyllo samosas, lentil croquettes, fava bean crostinis, and greek salad. And in our spring sunlit room, we blissfully munched away the supper hour.

And here's the result of much manipulating with pliers and screwdrivers with glue all over my hands. So it has an antique look. The inside is so plush and velvety, I can hardly fill it with subway tokens.
