i thought my sewing machine and i were on a hiatus, but...

a mini cowl scarf for Eily...(maybe this will put an end to sniffles every two weeks).

...and a finished order for a wool-loving three-year-old.

New designs

Just in time for tomorrow's sale: cowl scarf, mixed merino top, and slippers. It's not even that late, but my head is foggy, the tripod's crooked, and the colours are all off. Time for a sewing break.

puzzles

I've been working on some cotton pieces similar to the way I've worked with wool for skirts and sweaters. These are short-sleeved with small to elaborate cowl necks. They're like puzzles which I have to find the best way to put together to get the most out of the fabric.

I've had this dress in my mind for awhile, and a few weeks ago, I searched for some material to correspond with the front piece which I could use to make a cowl neckline for the back. Rebecca showed me how to make the pattern from a shirt I already had.
I'm delighted with it. A good way to celebrate the beginning of a week as my alter ego (without offspring). Brett and I are a bit lost to tell the truth, but I have to admit dinner was so enjoyably civil....with well chosen words and deliberate conversation.
