Grape juice

Yesterday Eily and his cousins made grape juice, by pressing grapes they found in the schoolyard. When i went into the kitchen afterwards, these tools were out.

By the way, the juice was actually pretty good.

Saw Whet's garden

To cheer up our kitten/cat, who's house-bound a few more days while his leg adjusts to the removal of the pin that was helping his leg heal after a fracture, a garden inside:

these sunny days

Eily and I tried out some sunprint paper.
Once it's comletely dry, the result is a white print against a brilliant indigo background.

i thought my sewing machine and i were on a hiatus, but...

a mini cowl scarf for Eily...(maybe this will put an end to sniffles every two weeks).

...and a finished order for a wool-loving three-year-old.

we finally sold the hutch that was taking up most of our dining room. now, there's room for our sideboard and though it still needs to be sanded and stained, this weekend's work quickly find a home on it; a "tree" for displaying felted work, calendula drying, and eily's printmaking from the open doors at the button factory yesterday.

Stamps for a park party that Krista is organizing. There's a bit of a leafy theme for the craft activities. The stamps are mounted on flat stones and chunks of wood, which makes them a bit bumpy in places. I tried them with stamp pads but I'd like to see how they work with a brayer and paint.

This, on the other hand, I'm happy with. These sleeves were perfect for sloves, nice and stretchy, but a little too boring on their own. I only added a poppy to one.
Today is a day of two posts. Thankfully, we don't get internet at the cottage though I usually need one visit to the Southampton library. This past weekend was rather low-key with the cooler weather and the cold I got on Saturday. I have no more energy left.
